Wednesday May 12, 2025 Start Location: Dallas, Texas End Location: Dayton, Ohio Total Distance: 1563 kms. Well the models indicate that not much is going to happen that I can reach the next few days and I am running a little short on money. This year was a little more expensive that previous although I dont know why? I guess gas and hotels have gone up or last time I did not track it as much. After 2 out of 3 successful chase days, I figured it was time to head home. As I dont want to take the same route home, it was time to see some of the country (even though I was just passing through). I got up at 6:30 am as I had a long way home and wanted to do it in 2 days. I also was hoping that I may catch the front that moved through last night and maybe get lucky (ya, I was grasping but who knows) I headed east on Interstate 30 towards Little Rock, and up to Memphis where I ate lunch and gassed up. I continued to Nashville via Interstate 40. I continued northward on Interstate 65 to Louisville. I wanted to get through town after traffic and found I arrived to a large multi-car pileup that just happened involving 2 big rigs and 5 cars. It must have just happened as I slide by in 3 minutes and continued to Cincinnati via interstate 71. About 8 pm., I was half way to Cincinnati and the front was behind me and some convection had started to fire up. I got some beautiful sunset pictures as the cells fired up. Although it was weak, by the time I hit Cincinnati, the
skies were dark and I was treated to a nice lightning showing entering the town. I saw
some nice strikes hit the skyscrapers and was looking for a place to pull over to film but
I could not find a good back road. All Photos are copyrighted 1999 by Dave Patrick. Any use other than authorized by them is against the law.
