It is advised to stay indoors during a winter storm at all costs. However, certain situations may arise that you have to go outdoors. If you do and get caught, below are some basic survival tips. Please review the tips for preparing before the storm to reduce your risks. OUTSIDE --Find shelter: try to stay dry,
cover all exposed parts of the body. IN A CAR OR TRUCK --Stay in your car or truck. Do not leave the car to search for assistance unless help is visible within 100 yards. You may become disoriented and lost is blowing and drifting snow. AT HOME OR IN A BUILDING --Stay inside. When using ALTERNATIVE HEAT from a fireplace, wood stove, space heater,
etc.; use fire safeguards, properly ventilate. |
