AN ENVIRONMENT CANADA OFFICIAL HAS JUST CONFIRMED THAT THE DAMAGE IN THE NORWICH AREA (30 KM SOUTHEAST OF WOODSTOCK) WAS CAUSED BY A TORNADO ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON. THIS TORNADO WAS LIKELY F1 TO F2 ON THE FUJITA SCALE.

My Damage Observations

I then left for my meeting in London and returned to Norwich. After viewing the damage in town and taking multiply photos, I postulated that it seemed like a strong F1 as I saw houses with roof damage, large trees uprooted and in some cases snapped, a steeple and back part of a church destroyed. I decided to have lunch and then follow the path of the storm ESE. I traveled almost 20 kms following the damage as the tornado hopped along from one area to the next. I saw significant damage to a few houses and a few barns severely damaged and one almost destroyed. It seems to me that the last evidence of touchdown was near the northwest corner of the Provincial Park southwest of Kelvin.

I read in the report from E.C. that there was 2 tornadoes in the area. This is where I failed in my analysis as I noticed that the tornado seemed to go through town and then rise at the ESE edge of Norwich and then touchdown down in multiply places outside of Norwich till weakening. Is this the place where 1 tornado ended and the second began?
